[Philmont]: Trekking Poles

I can also vouch for the use of trek poles, although I personally feel that the
shock absorbers not worth the extra cost. The poles were very valuable climbing
up Baldy and especially usefully coming down that big hill into Ponil from
Greenwood Canyon. I personally like just using a single pole, but others in our
crew used two very effectively ( I lack that skiers coordination required to use
two poles )

I think that poles are a great investment ( especially for the adults advisors )
