I just spent a couple of days on the Jersey section of the Appalachian
Trail. Trek poles with shocks were great. Go for a pair with the rubber
handles. REI makes a good set that's not too expensive (as these things
go). They really save the knees. Add some glucosamine and condraitin and
you will cruise right by those old high school knee injuries!
