Especially for those new to the list, "in the old days" there used to be lot
of discussion of "itinerary changes" - taking the assigned route and modifying
it for program, views, whatever. It became a logistical nightmare (not knowing
where crews were, more crews in a camp than ther were sites, etc.) and since
'99 (maybe '98?) changes to overnight camps are prohibitted. How you spend
your day, what programs you do, what trails you hike are up to you, but the
rules are you MUST be in your assigned camp overnight.
