Brent,

It is a tough climb from Clark's Fork to Shaefer's Pass. I don't know the
elevation change, but it has hurt me 3 times (I'm hoping for 4 in 2003).
Shaefer's Pass is a beautiful place to stop for breakfast if you get an early
start from Clark's Fork. Tooth Ridge is a very tough hike and a very scenic
view. Take your time crossing it. Take the side hike up to the top of the
Tooth, eat lunch and hike down to Base Camp early afternoon. Remember, there
is no water once you leave Shaefer's Pass.
