I have read and been greatly influenced by Jardine's book. There is also a
BackpackingLight group at www.yahoogroups.com which I have found most
informative.
No split-top sneakers for me, but I am considering an umbrella...

For those of us that are sewing machine challenged, you can purchase gear
endorsed by Ray at Go Lite, www.golite.com. Let us all know how things work
out. Ray is really a rebel and is challenging the notion that you need the
sophisticated gear sold at stores.
