The tents Philmont uses are rather heavy, but they hold up well. If the added weight is a concern, consider getting one or two lighter weight tents. The only concern there would be making sure the tent was tough enough to stand up to Philmont for 10 days,
hailstorms and all, *and* justifying to the youth members of your crew why the wimpy adults get to carry lighter tents! ;-)
