For my trek last year, I purchased one of those inflatable camp pillows from
Campmor. Costs about $10.00, folds down nice and flat when deflated ( I just
rolled it up in my sleeping bag ) and only weighs a few ounces. Worked great and
no bear worries. I concur with the bug repellent. We were there in late June
2001. We were pestered at times by flies, but other than that it was great.
