Good point brought up by Kevin to check with crews who have just come from
areas with unreliable water sources. You may have noted the water conditions
when you stopped at Logistics, but that was a couple of days ago and things
could have changed.

There are ways of bringing water into dry camps other than having the
advisors haul it in themselves. Make sure each person in your crew has the
capability to carry 3-4 quarts of water. Most days, you will need to carry
only two full canteens. But for those of you going into dry camps; eat
supper for lunch at your last water source, camel up with water (have
everyone drink a full quart) and then fill all canteens. This way the crew
carries its water into the dry camp, just not two or three people. Philmont
is a crew event!
