David

I had similar specs for a camera last summer. I ended up buying the Sony
P71. I think there may be newer models out there, but haven't researched
them lately.

This model is small. It fit in a pouch on my hip strap. It runs on AA
batteries. I, as Jeff Knoll has pointed out, used Lithium batteries. I got
most of the way through the trek on one set. I minimized my use of the
screen and used the viewfinder instead. I had all the power saving settings
on and rarely used the flash. One of the reasons I picked this camera was
for it's battery rating. One of my goals was to have all my battery devices
using the same batteries so that I could minimize the extras. Everything I
take, down to my LED flashlight, run on Lithium AAs. I ran out of power for
my FRS Radio on the last day, but it was the lowest priority.

This is a digital, 3 megapixel camera. It, as all Sony products do, uses
Memory Sticks. I carried two 128M sticks, filling up one and 3/4 of the
other.

As I said, Sony has come out with some newer models, but I think they'd
still carry one that satisfies your criteria. The only thing I've been
slightly unhappy with is trying to take pictures of things in motion, such
as sporting events, but I'm getting better at it through use.
