[Philmont]: Crew Leader

It would be interesting to get some thoughts about
the "Crew Leader" - how the role is viewed and how the
responsibilities are defined.

I know an advisor who wants to assign the Crew Leader
position on a rotating basis among the crewmembers - like
a "Crew Leader for the day" type of thing. I think it's an
awful idea, and I've heard Phil Ranger Staffers in the past
mention encountering crews like this and how they thought
this was a sure way to doom a crew to a failed trek
experience, and how they tried to reason with the advisors
out of doing it that way. But someone mentioned it here on
this list a couple of weeks ago.

Does anyone really plan on having the Crew Leader position
rotate among the crewmembers, and why do you think this is
a good thing?

If you think this is a bad idea, why, and how would you
respond to an advisor who feels otherwise?

Thanks for any input and ideas.
