I'm only familiar with the bake packer you have but it does a nice job. Be
aware that if you are going to take it to Philmont you will be carrying
extra weight for the muffins, pancakes, etc. and the meals Philmont
provides are heavy to begin with. I suppose you could repackage the
breakfasts Philmont supplies and leave some of their food out and
substitute your own. Another consideration is that you will be doing more
cooking in the mornings so this may slow your group down some in getting on
the trail in the morning. I like muffins, pancakes, omelletes, etc. to and
just got back from a backpack trip in Zion National Park where we used the
Bakepacker every morning but it does take time and extra fuel in the
mornings.

We have bake packers that I have had the boys using on shakedowns with
cakes, muffins, etc. Question is ours are small about 2 quarts, are these
adequate or are there larger ones available that someone has experience
using? We want to supplement our meals with cakes and preparing muffins,
pancakes, etc instead of breakfast cereals every day.
