Our solution, last summer, to a similar situation was to have one 3 person
tent, with three Scouts. The three advisors each slept alone, in
lightweight personal tents. This solution worked for us. We realized that
we could have saved a few ounces of "crew" weight, if we had used one less
tent.
BTW - my tent was a 4 1/2 pound Sierra Designs Clip Flashlight. This is not
much more than my half of a Philmont tent would have been.
