Actually not, this was exactly my intention. I would take a bowl big
enough for the 2 servings, rehydrate in it and wait the appropriate
'softening' time, then split the meal with a partner... half the food
going into his bowl, the other half consumed by me out of the bowl
large enough to mix up both servings. In reality, only half the bowls
would have to be larger. When I think of other cooking gear, I think of
the small containers of spices, S&P etc that I will want to have to
liven up the trail meals as well as my spoon etc. If your meal partner
is generally your tent mate, a slightly smaller bowl could nest within
the larger one, contain all the meal time gear for both and be part of
the gear split.

My other post wasn't written too well and I didn't notice it until it
came back. Sorry for the confusion.
