I have used a bowl sold by REI on two Philmont treks made by Arrow check
out:
http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=407&storeId=8000&ca
talogId=40000008000&langId=-1 They are a little taller and narrower than
the Lexan bowl. I like this bowl so much I bought enough for my whole crew
and gave everyone one to use. I just bought a 16 oz Sierra Cup and will be
trying it this summer.

I have also had good luck in preparing the old Philmont meals in a 6 quart
pot. We had been able to get all of the old 4 person food issued 12 people
in it, but we had to hold back some of the carb (potatos or roman noodles)
last year. We did not cook all of the food for two reasons first it did not
fit in the pot, second it was more than we needed. The no-pot eating method
mentioned on this list sounds interesting, I will be listening to the
reports that come back next fall. I would be particularly interested in how
well hydrated the vegetables and meat get preparing the meals this way.
In case you want to buy 6 quart pots you can find them in a 4 person cook
kit at:

I am not a fan of putting flavored drinks in individuals Nalgene bottles. I
fear the flavored drink will run down the side of the bottle and the sugar
will eventually get on the pack. Also I saw many crews hoisting heavy
weight bear bags on the cable full of smellables Nalgenes. I have used a
three quart collapsible large mouth Nalgene to mix Gatorade at meal times,
then serve it in the bowls and cups. It folds and stores easily ( we carry
it in a large zip lock bag ), and we use it as an extra water carrier to dry
camps.

atalogId=40000008000&langId=-1&addon=670641-626195 In order to insure
enough Gatorade is consumed we mix two packets per quart of water, this
boosts the flavor and tastes pretty good.
