RE: [Philmont]: Fly and no pot cooking

I have been away for a couple of days and am catching up.

*Grommets*
I have not used tywek, but with other materials, I have duct taped both
sides and used a grommet kit.

I would not recommend this, but I once did not have grommets and sewed a
washer over the duct tape, then punched a hole. That stayed for a very
long time.

*No pot cooking*
If the idea is just to avoid the clean up, I would not recommend it to my
crew. It took no more than 10 minutes to clean the pot when were there in
'99. With 10 dinners and 12 crew members, each crew member gets 10 minutes
more of work on the trail. This is done at a time when there is little
else to do. With a full pot of food, if someone can not eat a full share,
then it can be divided easily among the rest of the crew.
