It is to bad that 13 no longer includes Urraca but it still seems to be
a great trek for those who want to have a few extra days to get
acclimated to high altitude. There is nothing demanding until day 4. It
is also an improvement staying at Cyphers rather than Lamberts. This
trek can be some work in the middle days but having done it I would do
it again. Journal of 2001 trek 13 trip can be read at.

Subject: [Philmont]: trek 13
Everyone, I finally received an e-mail confirmation yesterday. But the
waiting was worth it, the boys got their first choice #13.
This trek has changed over the years.
Here is a summary;
Olympia, Zastrow, Carson Meadow, Agua Fria, Crooked Creek, Clear Creek,
Cyphers Mine, Cimarroncito,Cimarroncito, Upper Clarks Fork, Hike in to
Camp via the Tooth of Time.
I would love to hear any comments and/or sugesstions.
Steven Handeland, 705-C.
