The last time I was at Philmont - we were able to pick up 2 cans of fruit at
one of the food pick-ups. We didn't get the cobbler materials they
offered...but the kids enjoyed the fruit right out of the can...since
Miner's Park is a staff camp you might be able to get the staff to loan you
a dutch oven to make a cobbler.
I also took a Jiffy Pop popcorn with me that we ate at Ewell's Park the
night after climbing Baldy...it wasn't much...but was appreciated after a
long day of hiking...

Subject: [Philmont]: desert suggestions
> We are Expedition 612. Our last night is at Miners Park. It is also my
son's 16th birthday. He has kind of mixed emotions. He thinks it is a neat
way to spend his birthday, but he is bummed that he does not get to take his
driving test that day.
>
> To kind of help smooth things over I wanted to have a special desert for
dinner that night. Something that is not real difficult or time consuming
(and does not weigh a ton since I will be carrying it the entire way), but a
step above what we will have had the previous several evenings.
