This statement by BSA Sales may be "factual but not actual". Note that
many items that are discontinued by BSA Sales are still available at
various Scout shops around the country. If you get the catalog number
for the game, and call one of the National Scout Shops (I use the one in
Pittsburg), they can do a national search for you on their computer, and
tell you which Council Scout Shops still have the item in their
inventory - and they can give you the phone numbers for those shops,
too. I have done this four times, and three times successfully located
what I was looking for, in multiple venues all three times. And even in
the fourth case, there were two shops that still had the item I wanted
on their inventory, but they just couldn't find it anymore in their
dungeons.

On sharpening M&C skills, I would suggest that you would be better
served doing a local orienteering course or going to an orienteering
meet that offers teaching and well as a race. If this is impractical,
set one up on your own - I have an "inside" orienteering course inside
my Scout Hall, and two "outside" orienteering courses set up on the
grounds (parking lots) of my Chartered Partner.
