RE: [Philmont]: dessert suggestions

We used the bakepacker two years ago at Philmont and never had to clean a
pot while on the trail. It reduced the amount of water, fuel and time
required for cooking and clean-up, and maximized the time available for
relaxation and fun.

After utilizing this method there is now way we would consider going back to
the traditional pot cooking on the trail. Therefore we will use the
backpacker and cooking bag again this year.

>>Among the lightest backpacking ovens is the BakePacker.
http://www.bakepacker.com/ You can bring mix in a plastic bag, and bake
it right in the bag. Sorta like turkey-bagging a cake.<<

I checked out the web site and that's one cool trick! The product info
mentions cooking stews and Pork N' Beans. Have you used it on the trail
for Turkey Bag Method dinners? It would seem that the "Heat Pipe"
technology would reduce cooking time for these meals. Comments? (BTW,
it does specifically mention to not use it for soups and other thin
liquids.)
