I'm going with a digital. I have the canon s400 that I took to Northern
Tier last summer. One battery with LCD off lasted 7 days and took over
300 high quality pics (between 3/4mb and 1mb each). I will carry the
camera with a 512mb CF card, one 256mb CF card and one extra battery in
a pelican 1010 micro case. The case weighs about 5 oz but does an
excellent job in protecting the camera from the elements. The total
weight is 14 ounces. To stretch the battery life I do not plan on
viewing any pictures on the LCD while on the trek.

Subject: [Philmont]: Camera Suggestions
We are going to trek at Philmont this summer and I was wondering about
suggestions for a camera.
Small Lightweight?
Digital?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
