Minimum 128 and you can get memory cheap off the internet... Look around, sometimes a 256 card is a dollar more than a 128. As for shots, I have a 128, spent 6 hours at the Chicago auto show in February and got about 109 pictures with my settings at the highest resolution... If you are really concerned, get the 256 memory card and with editing your photos along the way I doubt you will fill it...

I realize the number of photos you can get on a given memory card is dependant on the card size, resolution, etc., but i was wondering if anyone has a good rule of thumb or recommendations to maximize photos per card, yet not drop resolution so low as to be useless for anything but viewing on the computer. usually 4x6 prints are sufficient, but I could see someone possibly wanting a 5x7 print, or maybe even an 8x10 crew picture.

thanks,

Mark Miller

I recently purchased a Nixon (CoolPix) 3100 to bring with... Extremely small and takes great photos. A group that went last year at a CoolPix 4300 and had an outstanding slide show of their trip. Our suggestion is one camera, digital, 128 meg card. Make sure you have an extra set of batteries (the rechargeable Lithium are the best) Burn a copy of the pictures for each attendee when you get home...
