We had a similar experience last year, going from Crater Lake to Shaefers
Pass then to Tooth of Time. We stopped and had our last dinner for lunch that day
as we crossed a creek. That way we were able to use the water in the creek to
cook and clean, then restocked with Polar Pure for the afternoon and next
day. Would recommend trekking poles for anyone! They are a big help, especially
on the steep trails going down.
