We were a crew of 11. We used soft, carry-on bags for ALL our clothing when
we flew to Denver from Atlanta. No checked luggage out of Atlanta. We
shipped packs, stoves, etc. ahead to arrive a couple of days before we did.
Trail clothes were transferred to packs on arrival at Philmont.
There was plenty of room in the base camp storage lockers for personal items,
traveling clothes, personal electronics/games, cell phones, carry-on bags,
etc. plus the items we elected not to take on the trail, e.g., some of the parts
of the Philmont cook kits. You can store valuables/money/credit
cards/jewelry, in a safe (Philmont will provide details).
We broke down the oversize cartons used to ship our packs and stored them at
Security. That's a short walk from the lockers and the post office/UPS pickup.
