Take a page (pun intended) from the ultralight types. Get a paperback,
then cut off the margins (usually at least 1/2 inch) and tear off the
covers and all the flyleaf pages until all that is left is what you
want to read. Then, as tom mentions, get rid of pages as you read.
Provided you can find a way to dispose of them that is consisten with
Philmont policies.
Personally, I find this kind of ounce saving just a bit more extreme
than I want to go :-)
Mind you, if I had two days in Beaubien, I doubt I'd be sitting around
during daylight hours. Too many peaks to climb around there. Unless
I've got to stick around to be the adult with the boys, or can't find
a hiking buddy. Always a problem with wanderlust.
Has everyone gotten something back after paying their initial payment?
I've gotten nothing since I sent the check in.
