RE: [Philmont]: Trek 16 Help

Thanks very much for the responses regarding trek # 16. The info provided
on this List is very helpful and appreciated.

Yes, there is a probable error on the Trek 16 map in the Treks book for Day
6. In 2001, a Day 6 commissary pickup was scheduled at Phillips
Junction. In 2002, that changed to Apache Springs. So there is no need to
take that long route from Lower Bonita to PJ, then back down to hit Fish
Camp on the way to Apache Springs. The Webster Pass route from Lower
Bonita to Fish Camp is the way to go. Seems the map in the Treks book has
never been updated to reflect this.

Remember, these maps in the Treks book are guidelines only and tend to have
situations like this. These things should be well clarified on your
briefing at Logistics in CHQ on Day 1. Map study and research is always a
great preparation.
