[Philmont]: Trekking Poles and Raingear

are well worth their weight. They really do help.

I used Frog Togs for rain gear - jacket and pants -
and they worked well. They're strong, breathable,
lightweight, and inexpensive - less than $50 for the
set. They're made out of something that resembles
DuPont Tyvek material. It is essential to have both
pants and jacket.
