I don't think finding spots for a 4-man tent will present a big problem, as they don't take up a whole lot more space than a 2-man tent. Your idea is actually a good one, because you're using fewer total tents than if you used 2 2-man tents for the 3 boys and 2 2-man tents for the 3 advisors (or a combination of 2- and 1-man tents). Finding that many tent spots would be harder than finding spots for 4-man tents.
