As a former contact lens wearer, the only comments I will add to the
many remarks already made is to bring small bottles of wetting solution,
and to bring an extra bottle (or bottles). I have seen Scouts carrying
half a liter of wetting solution, which is just silly. The extra
bottle(s) is in case the first is lost (crushed, punctured, or just
"lost", etc.) Since the wetting solutions are a specialized solution, I
treat them like a prescription med; that is, have a backup. As has been
noted, that can be a pair of glasses if preferred.
