4 hour wait time may seem like a long time for crypto but polar pure won't kill it at all (so I've heard). If you want to be sure you don't have to worry about crypto and are in a hurry (I would have trouble waiting 4 hours too), filter the water first and then treat it. cysts are big and filters can be effective at removing them. Experts, please correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Is crypto prevalent at Philmont? Last year, we primarily used Polar Pure without filtering (unless it was really dirty water).
 
Setting aside the cyst topic, Micropur MP1 appears to be pretty quick (quicker than polar pure). But more expensive than Polar Pure.
