Probably just a prize for selling enough Trails End popcorn......<g>!

Speaking of popcorn prizes (and off-topic for sure, so tune out now if you
only want Philmont info), we had two brothers in our troop who's dad was
the local news chopper pilot. At summer camp, he would fly down a couple
of times, basically to bring us ice and other town goodies. One evening,
just after flags, he shows up and lands the chopper up on the mesa behind
the camp. He then heads down to our camp with cooler in tow. The other
troops are agog. Our Scoutmaster turns to the troop standing next to us
and says "see what happens when you sell enough popcorn, you get your own
troop helicopter". The look on those kid's faces was priceless! YIS.

Hi:

I little off topic, but relevant to those crews doing warm-up hikes on the
Appalachian Trail. There have been many reports of vehicle break-ins and
even stolen vehicles in the southern Virginia portion of the trail. Most
of the stolen vehicles were new or almost new. The thieves seem to leave
the older vehicles alone.

Please be careful out there.

Have a good weekend.
