No longer allowed since 1999 except for "medical reasons" and like in
2002, modified by Philmont because of fires.
What you see is pretty much what you get. And Unofficial itinerary
changes are not only against Philmont policy, they could be
extraordinarily dangerous. If you aren't where you are supposed to be
in an emergency (for example - forest fire) then you will not be
informed and could be or become at risk. AND someone else has to put
themselves at risk to find you. CAMP WHERE YOU ARE ASSIGNED!
