Answer:

True, this is no longer allowed (and has not been since the mid to late
90's, at least). Each crew must stay in the camp listed on their itinerary
(except for emergencies); modifications cannot be made in Logistics.

And, of course, don't even think about an unauthorized, free lance change on
your own.
