No offense taken. Our crew has been doing WFA since 2000 when we brought SOLO to our area and sponsored a course. That was the first of several times we used SOLO as our instructors. Since then, several scouters in our council have gotten certified as ARC WFA preferred providers and now present the course at a much lower cost. Is it expensive, yes. But like the MasterCard ad, the training can be priceless when someone gets hurt in the backcountry and when they call out for help, all they get is you. It wasn't the resources or money of the National Capital Area Council that brought WFA here. I don't believe our council's Health and Safety committee even knew about WFA when we had our first course. You just gotta keep pushing that noodle up hill until somebody listens.
