Yeah, lines on trees are not allowed. If you have a lot of treking poles in
the crew. Just take a long length of parachute cord. Stake one end in the
ground, run it up and over the top of a trek pole, then over to another one
and stake it back down to the ground. For a long line, just add a pole at 6
foot intervals with some diagonals to stabilize the line. Works like a
charm, and it's only 3 feet high, so if you walk into it, you won't damage
anything important.
