I've been using the "Sierra Club Naturalist's Guide for the Southern
Rockies" by Audrey DeLella Benedict.
It includes northern New Mexico. Has 23 chapters and is a
comprehensive source of information starting with the geologic
formation of the area on to the vegetation, fauna and climate and
explains the ecological interrelationships of these elements.
"Clearly written, abundantly illustrated, and easily portable."
This hardback was published in 1991 @ $30. ISBN 0-87156-741-5
