Wish I had Philmont Field Guide in 2006, and sure would like one for 2009! Several crew members and I stopped and photographed wildflowers and mushrooms and rock formations and (Insect pics did not turn out so well)... Would have loved to have identified a number of them on the trail, plants, rocks, geology. Crews have different interests, but it would have been fascinating for some of us to study on some of our trail breaks. Saw Philmont from Carsons Meadows to Dan Beard, From Trail Peak to Mt. Phillips to Baldy. The variety was amazing and we would have carried the extra weight of teh Field Guide. Anyone want to lend us one for 2009?

Last time I carried my Field Guide it hardly came out of my pack. But based on the survey and interest in helping the cause, I might just tote it along this summer.
