"does it matter that this is a council contingent"
You bet - First thing is to talk with your council HA Chair. He's the guy
that owns the contingent and He's the guy that is going to have to decide if
he wants to spend political capital on your request with the ranch. If one
of my Advisor's went to the ranch independently I'd not be very happy with
them, this is an event for them but its a hard earned working relationship
for council volunteers. Further he may have open spots in other crews, or a
waiting list that will impact your request.
It is not common for 13 person crews, but they happen, all for special
reasons and all with Mark's approval.

Subject: [philmont] 13th crew member
I think I remember a posting a while back where someone mentioned about
having a 13th member added to their crew.
We have a new scout who just relocated due to a family situation and wants
to go with us.
Who does one send this type of request to? Does it matter that it is a
Council Contingent?
On a side note, is there a way to search this lists' archives?
Thank you for your assistance.
