We had an 11 man crew and used only the one 12x12 Noah. We ran into rain at
least two nights and had to eat under it. A little tight but not bad.
60 lbs is pretty stout pack. Especially going up Trail Peak from
Fowler Pass, or up Mt Phillips from Clear Creek.
I trained for 6 months daily with a 70 lb pack on flat land, lifted weights,
did push ups, pull ups to get in shape for the trek. I was in really good
shape, and it was a struggle on some of the climbs. I didn't weigh my pack
out of base camp, but my guess it was around 55 lbs. One day was 11+ miles
from Webster Park to Tooth ridge, and was a butt kicker as well.
For 2009, I'm slimming down my pack so that without crew gear, food or
water I hope to be around 18 Lbs, or less.
