If memory serves me right the average bag of Philfood weighs just under 2 pounds (lunch is the heaviest, supper the lightest)

Coop,
Good advice as usual. I would go as far to say that walking out of base camp with less than 35 pounds, including food, water, and crew gear is pretty darn close to ultralight.
As a "gear obsessed" person, (I am this way with all my endeavors, not just backpacking, much to my wife's chagrin!), here are a few items in my load out. You can get to 35 lbs very quickly, even with the lightest gear. The gear lsted below is pretty light stuff.
Tent, Sleeping bag, Sleep clothes, pad, stakes, pillow 6.5 Lbs.
Empty Backpack, stuff sacks 4.5 lbs
Clothes, fleece, raingear.... 4.5 lbs
Empty Nalgenes, Camelbak 1.5 lbs
Camera, toiletries, misc 1.5 lbs
That's 18.5 lbs without crew gear, water or food.
4 liters of Water 8 lbs
8 bags of Philfood - 5 lbs (guessing here)
Already up to 31.5 lbs without crew gear.
4 lbs of crew gear brings you to 35.5.
