If memory serves me right the average bag of Philfood weighs just under 2 pounds (lunch is the heaviest, supper the lightest)

I haven’t done the weighing, but this is what others have reported for Philmeals:

Based on the above, Suppers are the lightest at 3/4 to a pound, Breakfasts are a pound to 1-1/4, and Lunches 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 pounds. One of each, three bags, would be about 3-1/2 pounds. That of course would be for two people, so one day of food for one person is about 1-3/4 pounds.

Joe's guess of 5 pounds for 8 bags is not bad PER person, but more like twice that for bags packed for two. Andre's recollection of an average of just under 2 pounds (less than 16 pounds for 8 bags) is high.
