That will work, but in your email to your son, running boiled water through
it won't "decontaminate" it. Neither will running filtered water through it.
 Boiling it in water will. Running "Polar Pure" treated water through it
will. Running staffed camp "treated with chlorine" water through it MIGHT
decontaminate it. MIGHT is the key word here.

There is a lot less "treatment" of staffed camp water because it comes from
sources usually cleaner than streams. However, some does come from streams
via pumps and some, Crooked Creek 2002" by the bucket method.
