Thanks for the input. I forgot to mention that the Backpacker article also
talks about "Don't Drink Too Much" and suggests sticking to 5-6 quarts per
day per average hiker. Cameling up ensures one quart in each person at the
beginning of the day. I typically find myself encouraging crew members to
drink more, not less, just because they are not coming close to the 5-6
quarts that are recommended. It has worked for me, so I guess I will stick
with it. I have yet to ever see anyone come off the trail, from my crew or
any other, from drinking too much water.
