I love these kinds of debates. Some folks are more absolute and precise in
their interpretation of scout issues than they are of God's law or the law
of the land. I'm sure that the folks who apply the letter of the law on
scout issues never exceed the speed limit by even one mile per hour and
never ever fudge on their income tax. If they get upset at issues like this
they must have had a constant cardiac during the last decade when in
Washington DC it was policy that character did not matter. They must be
suicidal as they watch the uncovering of the corporate greed scandal that
was born and grew to fruition in the 90's.

The point here is that the scout tried to do the right thing. We do not
know why he was overweight...he might have been a weightlifter or football
lineman. Was he over by 1, 5 or 10lbs. Heaven forbid that we should ever
give the scout the benefit of the doubt, let's judge and condemn him right
now! We need to remember that it is a game and not a religion.
