Going along with the above, my personal opinion is that if Philmont gave the
crew 12 patches and there were 12 in the crew then issue the 12 patches to
the 12 people on the crew and stop acting like a sanctimonious fool. There
is not a board of review or signoff as on rank and merit badges and there
shouldn't be. It's just like any other summer camp. Good grief!

I am not believing the comments from supposedly grown men about witholding
the arrowhead and mutilating it because one spent time in medical. And yes,
I did say men! Notice there are no women piping up with similar comments.
Thank goodness the more compasionate gender obviously feels a little
different or else they think the discussion is so silly it doesn't merit a
comment.

As to the "wounded" or "injured" patch. I only wish an advisor on a crew I
was on did something like that to a kid. Hazing? I think so. If that
advisor wanted to get to eat his breakfast in peace the next morning in my
presence, he'd better cough up "his" unaltered patch and take the butchered
one home to remind him to never pick on a kid again.

Yeah, I'm up on a soap box. It's time some "men" acted like it.
