We just returned from PHILMONT this week. We had a 10 day short trek and
traveled by Amtrak's Southwest Chief. I arranged to arrive a day early due
to everything I had heard about how late they could be.

I was pleasantly surprised both coming and going. We left Kansas City only
15 minutes late and arrived in Raton within 15 minutes of its scheduled
arrival time. On the return trip, the train was 20 minutes late arriving in
Raton and was on time arriving in Kansas City.

This was nice after hearing all the horror stories about how late Amtrak ran.
