Verizon pay up front did not work at PTC at all! Tried to call home and let
family know I arrived safe but could not get out. May one be so lucky as to
work at Philmont. I paid my life savings (not really, just vacation savings
and time) just to visit there for one week - and loved it so much I want to
go back! Other people on this list have had success with their cell phones
and hopefully will reply. My cell never worked there, at all, and I tried
numerous times and days/nights. Good luck and Best Wishes. Enjoy: YiS: Jerry

Subject: [Philmont]: Cell Phone Service in Basecamp
It looks like I have found my way into working another season at
Philmont for this autumn (can't get a job anywhere else). I am
considering buying a cell phone to keep in Basecamp to keep in touch
with the parents, friends, etc. Does anyone have experience with what
carriers provide service or do not provide service in Basecamp?
I'm not looking to reopen the Cell phone debate, I just want to know
what carriers to look at.
If we get some good responses to this, Selden may want to put a list of
these on his site.
Thanks
Jason
