RE: [Philmont]: Cell Phone Service in Base camp

Jason,

My daughter is on PTC Staff this summer.
She has a brand new super-duper cell phone and
Verizon's national America's Choice plan and all she could get were weak
analog (vs digital) connections.
Sometimes Verizon Extended network, sometimes roam.

Without a digital connection many of the features were inoperable.
When I went to PTC this summer, we took the phone to Raton on Wednesday
(So she and two PTC Staff friends could go to K-Mart!!)
And only got analog up there, too

So, I would look for another carrier for life at the ranch

As stated by someone else, the pull off with the view of the Tooth is
supposed to have great connections.
