RE: [Philmont]: Viruses, spyware, and what's "list related"

I have to second Mark's recommendation on the Ad-Aware software.

I use it at home on our PC and run it a couple of times a week. It is
amazing how much junk, mostly data mining software, that gets placed on
your PC without your knowledge. These programs are always running in the
backround and, if nothing else, they do have the potential to slow down
your system considerably.

At the worst, one of these could be a worm/virus, which affects your PC,
which affects your ability to read this list (so there, it is "list
related" 8^)> )

Thanks for the heads up on these bugs that are out there.

If the rest of y'all that think this isn't related to the list, wait till
you get a virus in your system, and, if all else fails, do as I do and use
the "delete" key.

It works quite well.

Bob,

Have you tried Ad-Aware from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/). There's a free version you
can download that scans for and removes spyware, much like antivirus
software does with viruses, worms, etc. PC World called Ad-Aware "an
indispensable tool in the fight for online privacy."
