we used a light weight 10x12 tarp that you can buy at Northern Tool or Home
Depot. Used trekking poles and it worked fine. Weighed about half of a Philmont
tarp and is inexpensive. If you can get your hands on a scrap piece of Tyvek,
you can make a great tarp that is very light.
