I was there during two hails storms last week, on differnet days. There was
so much hail, the ground was white. The report of two feet was incorrect
though. It was about four feet deep. One of the campers actually fell into the
mess, and was treated for hyperthemia. It rained every day last week, for a
total of three inches during the week. There has been almost twenty inces of
rain this year, compared to less than ten last year. The sunflowers were about
seven feet tall in the North Ponil valley near anasazi and Indian Writings due
to the rain this summer. The burned areas are growing back nicely.
